Those who carry such special articles as microorganisms, human body tissues, biological products, and blood and its products, should declare to a quarantine department, and subject these articles to quarantine inspections. Passengers from yellow fever-infested areas should, when entering China, display to the quarantine department effective certificates showing that they have been inoculated against yellow fever. He who does not have such a valid certificate shall be retained for observation for six days beginning from the day he left the infested area, or he shall be inoculated and retained until the certificate comes into effect. It is the task of the Chinese quarantine authorities to prevent foreigners suffering AIDS, leprosy,venereal diseases, mental diseases and open tuberculosis from entering China.
     Insurance  
Travel Agencies' Liability Insurance Whether you travel outside your home country for business or on holiday, an international trip could involve some uncertain risk , which may result in accidents. We suggest all travelers to buy travel insurance or any insurance with the coverage of your international travel. This will definitely protect you against any accidental events happened in your travel including illness, injury, theft or other losses. The category of insurance you choose is depending on your personal financial condition and demands of course.At present, most of the International Travel Services in China only provides 'Travel Agencies' Liability Insurance' to their foreign clients. Therefore, some other kind of personal accidence insurance, purchased in your own country, is also necessary.
     Health  
China is a remarkably healthy country despite its relative poverty and climatic variations. Standards of hygiene varies from place to place so all visitors must be aware of potential hazards and act cautiously. Tap water is not safe; all water consumed must be boiled or filtered unless it is bottled mineral water. Boiled water is available in all Chinese hotels and restaurants. Although food is prepared fresh and cooked or cleaned thoroughly, stomach upsets are possible so it is advisable to take some medicine with you.Medicines to be taken include antibiotic medicine, cold medicine, digestive medicine, anti-seasickness medicine, anti- allergic medicine, anti- AMS medicine and traumatic healers.
     Currency  
Chinese currency is called Renminbi (people's money), often abbreviated as RMB. It is issued by The Bank of China and is the sole legal tender within the People's Republic of China . The symbol for RMB is ¥. The unit of Renminbi is a yuan and with smaller denominations called jiao and fen. The conversion among the three is:
1 yuan = 10 jiao =100 fen RMB is issued both in notes and coins. The denominations of paper notes include 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 yuan; 5, 2 and 1 jiao; and 5, 2 and 1 fen. The denominations of coins are 1 yuan; 5, 2 and 1 jiao; and 5, 2 and 1 fen. Note: in spoken Chinese, yuan is often called as kuai and the jiao as mao.
     Passport & Visa  
Before traveling to China, some essential travel documents should be prepared.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months. And at least one-entire blank page in your passport for the visa is required. If there are not enough pages on your passport, you can simply go to embassy or consulate in your country to have additional pages added.
According to the Law of the People's Republic of China Concerning the Administration of Foreigners Entering and Leaving the Country, foreign tourists must apply for visas at China's foreign affairs offices, consulates or other organizations authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A group of five tourists or more can apply for a group tourist visa. This is usually handled by a travel agency organizing groups. People coming to China from countries which have visa agreements with China (such as agreements which exempt tourist groups from visas) are treated in accordance with these agreements.
     Exit  
Certificates required when leaving China
You are required to present the valid passport and Chinese visa when exiting from the country. All travelers should leave the country within the allowed stay-period marked on their visas.
Customs Declaration
What you have declared to be taken into China when entering the country is required to be brought out of the country. Otherwise, for all missing items on your Entry Customs Declaration, you have to pay import duty. For the articles which have been deposited at customs, you have the right to collect them again and take them out of China .
     Clothing  
Clothing is one of the important things in your preparation.Because of long jounery, you'd better choose comfortable footwear with thick-soles and soft-uppers for mountain climbing. Do not take leather shoes, sandals or other tight shoes. Prepare cotton socks or stockings. One thing important is to bring a comfortable slipper with you if you are not willing to take the public one in some hostels or guesthouses in remote areas.Choose bright color clothes and caps in case of taking a long walk under the sun in summer.
